Pay: Typically $3,500-$4,500/month, depending on program and experience

Classification: Temporary, Exempt or Non-Exempt depending on the position and applicable law

North Shore Strategies is building a nationwide network of experienced Organizers to help lead grassroots field programs for Democratic candidates and causes. We are not currently hiring for a specific position, but we regularly launch campaigns across the country and want to connect with strong organizers before opportunities become available.

We are looking for dependable, solutions-oriented leaders who can build strong teams, manage fast-paced field operations, and consistently deliver results.

About the Role

As an Organizer, you will help oversee the day-to-day execution of a campaign’s field program. You will be responsible for recruiting and managing staff, implementing field strategy, monitoring performance, maintaining accurate data, and ensuring that program goals are met.

The ideal candidate is an organized and adaptable manager who can motivate a team, solve problems quickly, and maintain high standards in a demanding campaign environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers and paid canvassers
  • Manage daily canvassing, petitioning, voter registration, and other voter-contact programs
  • Organize and staff campaign events, trainings, and volunteer activities
  • Lead canvass launches, check-ins, and debriefs
  • Track attendance, voter contact, data quality, and progress toward field goals
  • Maintain accurate volunteer, staffing, scheduling, and field records
  • Build relationships with volunteers, supporters, and community partners
  • Provide regular updates on field activity, challenges, and results
  • Coordinate with campaign leadership and North Shore Strategies staff
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day field issues and support overall campaign operations

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with political canvassing, petitioning, organizing, voter registration, or other field work
  • Experience recruiting, training, or supporting volunteers or canvassers
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced campaign environment
  • Comfortable working with campaign data, reporting, and voter-contact tools
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends, and irregular campaign hours
  • Willing to travel or temporarily relocate when required
  • Reliable access to a computer and smartphone
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for some programs
  • Commitment to supporting Democratic candidates and causes
  • Experience with MiniVAN, VAN, or similar campaign tools is preferred
