Compensation: Unpaid. North Shore Strategies can work with a student’s college or university to provide academic credit.
Schedule: Approximately 15 hours per week, divided between remote and in-person work

About the Internship
North Shore Strategies is seeking a dependable, organized, and resourceful Human Resources & Operations Intern to support our growing team.
This internship offers hands-on experience in employee onboarding, recruiting, internal communications, HR recordkeeping, systems development, and the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced political consulting firm.
The intern will help support employees working on political campaigns across the country while gaining exposure to the systems and processes required to recruit, onboard, communicate with, and maintain records for a large temporary and seasonal workforce.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate interested in human resources, business operations, political consulting, public service, or organizational management.
Primary Responsibilities
The Human Resources & Operations Intern will assist with:
- Monitoring the company’s HR phone line, documenting employee questions, and directing matters to the appropriate staff member.
- Supporting employee onboarding and offboarding, including sending instructions, tracking required steps, and updating internal records.
- Maintaining accurate employee, applicant, and program information in spreadsheets, HR systems, and internal tracking tools.
- Drafting routine employee communications, onboarding materials, job postings, reminders, and periodic email updates.
- Supporting recruiting by organizing applications, updating candidate trackers, and communicating with applicants.
- Researching HR, scheduling, timekeeping, and other systems that could improve company operations.
- Assisting with internal projects such as company merchandise, office materials, incoming mail, and document organization.
- Providing general administrative, research, and writing support as assigned.
The intern may also take ownership of individual projects based on their skills, interests, and the needs of the firm.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or recently graduated.
- Interest in human resources, business operations, political consulting, campaigns, public service, or organizational management.
- Availability for approximately 15 hours per week.
- Ability to work in person at our Midtown Manhattan office for approximately half of the internship schedule.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort communicating with employees and applicants by phone, email, and text.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and keep tracking systems current.
- Good judgment and the ability to handle employee information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently while asking questions when additional guidance is needed.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
- Experience with spreadsheets, email marketing platforms, HR systems, recruiting platforms, or database management is helpful but not required.
